The cZ Analog IR Presence Sensor senses the presence and proximity of objects using active and pulsed-coded infrared light. The sensor detects objects up to a range of 2 meters and alerts to object range (such as a package range on a conveyor for example). Data output is in analog voltage only. A sample test program is also available for this sensor. A plastic cover is also available for easy mounting.
Applications of the Analog cZX Presence Sensor are:
- Movement and actuator sensor e.g., detecting objects like a box on a conveyor belt.
- Motion sensor e.g., detecting movement in an area where no activity should occur.
- Proximity sensor e.g., informing a robot that it is approaching an object.
- Burglar detector e.g., placed near a door or window to detect objects or movement.
The cZX Analog Presence Sensor makes use of PN codes (pseudo-noise) in the analysis, but outputs only an analog voltage for fast actuator response. The PN sequence or advanced signal processing increases the measurement resolution, resulting in improved movement detection. As well as improved range or distance measurement of objects.
